Peonies : How To Prepare for A Vase

My local Trader Joe's alway has beautiful blooms of the season and one of my favorites to pick up are Peonies. They are so fragrant and beautiful when they bloom. I also love large blooms like hydrangeas and with only a few Peony stems you can create a full vase.

I often use the internet and eHow when I need direction or how to so I wanted to share the tutorial for how to cut and prepare peony for a vase. Hope you enjoy.

A few Groceries I picked Up at Trader Joe's

*GF = Gluten Free

Blueberries: Great for snacking on or adding to yogurt or *GF oatmeal

Esparagus: This is my go to veggie for dinner. Super quick to saute and they are packed with nutrients and antioxidants.

Protein Bars: I don't eat protein bars but my husband loves them as a mid day snack or for post and pre work out. Make sure they are low in sugar and high in protein and include other vitamins or minerals. 

Yellow Squash: Also great for getting veggies in and I have found very tasty baked 

Avacadoes: Love avocados on *GF toast, mixed with salsa for instant guacamole, or on top of turkey burger patties. 

Crumbled Feta: I just recently discovered this Feta by a blogger named Andee from the Honeybee blog. This is so so good and I add it to most salads or even in rice or quinoa dishes. 

String Cheese: Great for and on the go snack. Just make sure its skim or non fat.

Baked Lentil Chips : In love with these crispy full of flavor chip. I dip them in guacamole and hummus. 

Fage Greek Yogurt : This greek yogurt is delish and packed with protein. This is a great on the go breakfast or if you are in the mood for something sweet but don't want to have a cheat date and eat that piece of blubbery pie.

Pinapple Juice : I love this juice, it reminds me of my vacationing in hawaii. Pineapple juice not only taste yummy but it also has great health benfits. It contains folic acid a vitamin that is essential for women wanting to or that are pregnant. It is also good for your skin and maintaining a natural water balance. 

Vanilla Oat Cereal: The hubs loves this with skim milk for a quick breakfast in the mornings.

This waterproof cream shadow will be perfect for summer days at the beach or by the pool. A wash of this shimmery pink would be gorgeous and effortless. 

2. Dr. Jart : Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask

 I have pretty dehydrated skin so I am dying to try this quick absorbing Hyaluronic Acid night repair mask by Dr. Jart.   

Product Love : Moroccanoil Body Oil

I have very dry skin and I really need an intensely nourishing moisturizer for my skin, however I hate lotion. I hate applying lotion, the sticky residue, the fact that I feel I have to wait a while before I put on my clothes. Due to this weird dislike I have, I found myself searching for an alternative.

For those of you who don't know what the Met Gala is or Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Benefit Gala, I will sum it up in a little nut shell. 

It is basically a prom/party for the whose whose, actors, models, designers, celebrities that arrive lavishly dressed, often times incorporating the theme of the gala in some way. 

The anual event takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and launches the Costume Institute spring exhibition where thousands of historical costumes and accessories are displayed. 

This year the theme is "Punk: Chaos to Couture ." Take a look at my picks for who pulled this off in an effortless and cool way.

I am totally crazy about the mirrored lens trend. I definitely wanted to find the look for less because it's that sort of trendy item that your not sure how long it would be "in" for? I like the aviator style and fell in love with the Ray-Ban version. As tempted as I was to purchase, because Ray-Bans are my fav, I stumbled across this Forever21 steal for a fraction of the cost. 

I purchased the Forever21 pair and am actually quite impressed with the quality and over all look and feel it gives. Not bad, and for under $6 I think everyone should just get a pair. This is a supper cool and edgy way to update your beach look this summer.

This is a fresh faced simple makeup look. This is great for days that you want to look put together but not as if you are trying to hard. For spring I am all about looking natural and bright. With a simple champagne toned eyeshadow swept over the eyelids, coats of mascara, cream blush, and berry lips this look is so cheerful and perfect for spring months.

Target Finds

Target is by far my favorite store to visit! I love that you can get everything you really need at this one store. I visit Target at least twice a week ;) Today I picked up a few things and spotted some others to hope for in the near future.

I must say that I have such an attachment towards music. I danced from the age of two and learned at an early age to express myself through displaying movement by listening to music and conveying the emotion and feelings it gave me.  

Occasionally I find an artist that I fall in love with. This artist is no exception. The beats this artist puts forward are out of this world. Every time I hear a new composition my body cant help but want to sway side to side.

There are several special items I have had on my wish list for some time now and just cant wait to acquire them. 

1. Jawbone Up : This fancy little "life" gadget is so cool. It tracks how you sleep, move, and eat so you can know yourself better, make smarter choices, and feel your best. My husband recently purchased the Nike Fuel band and loves it. The Jawbone Up is a better choice for me because it tracks your sleep which is something I have been struggling with recently. 

Jo Malone : Limited Edition

I frequently love to change my perfumes so I am always on the look for something unusual, fresh, and alluring. Jo Malone always seems to do it for me. They have recently released a limited edition collection named Sugar & Spice and Oh Boy is this bunch Oh So tempting. The fragrance was inspired by delightful, decadent goodies and is perfect for the lady who loves interesting & attention holding scents.

I had a chance to spend a few minutes.....ok more than a few minutes at my local Jo Malone boutique. I just couldn't help myself. I sampled each fragrance drawing in their aromas and pondered their seductive notes.
